Users of VAST Cluster management tools are called managers .

The term 'users' in VAST Cluster management tools, refers to client-side storage users.
There is one factory default management user account with full permissions. See the VAST Data Security Guidelines for user account details.
After using the default manager for the first time login, you can change its password and create additional managers with any permissions you choose to assign. The default manager cannot be deleted and its permissions cannot be reduced.
From the menu (click ), select Security and then select the Managers tab.
The list shows:
The manager's user name.
The manager's first name and last name, if it was provided.
The roles assigned to the manager. The manager inherits permissions from these roles.

), select Security and then select the Managers tab.
Click the

In the Add Manager dialog, complete the manager's details:

Description
Username (required)
The user name for login.
Full Name
First and last names separated by a space. The name will appear on the managers list as first name and last name.
Password (required)
Enter a password for the manager.
Retype Password (required)
Enter the same password you entered in the Password field.
Available Roles
Select each role you want to assign from the drop down list. When you select a role, the role is added to the Current Roles list just below the field and the permissions inherited from the role are added to the permissions table lower down.
To remove a role, click the little remove button (
) for each current role.

Assign the manager permissions using the grid provided:

Enable a permission by clicking it's icon.

Toggle whole rows and columns on and off by clicking the row or column heading. For example, click Create to add Create permission for all realms.

The lock sign (
) indicates permission inherited from a role. You cannot disable an inherited permission.

When you're done, click Create.
The new manager is added.
Modify a manager to change the manager's password or permissions.
From the menu (click
), select Security and then select the Managers tab.

On the Managers tab, hover over the row of the manager you want modify, under the far right column, until the Edit button (
) appears, and then click the button.
Make your changes in the Update Manager dialog. See Adding Managers for help. To leave the password unchanged, simply leave the password fields blank.
Click Update.
To manage managers via the CLI, use the following commands.
