This procedure is essentially a proposal at this stage. It refers to a filterable variable-content content base from which a complete customized installation guide can be published for any given installation.
If your customer is going to do their own installation, follow this procedure to ensure that the customer is equipped to perform the installation:
Plan the installation assuming that host and switch configuration will be done using the VAST Web UI installation feature.
Share the installation plan with Documentation in advance of the installation as soon as the Networking, Hardware, and IP Details are completed.
Based on your installation plan, Documentation will publish a custom version of The VAST Cluster Quick Install Guide for the customer. This guide instructs the customer's personnel how to conduct the entire installation from unpacking through configuration.
Use this guide to prepare a custom scheme file for the installation.
Check carefully through the customized guide and work with Documentation to fix any errors you find.
Provide the customer with the custom Vast Cluster Quick Install Guide and the items listed inside the custom guide under the heading Before Going to the Site. This includes the scheme file you prepared.
The customer should now be equipped to install the cluster (assuming the receipt of the hardware shipment) and will reach out for support if needed.
