Follow the cabling instructions below. For all port assignments and to identify the correct cable for each connection, refer to your installation plan.
For help identifying port locations on chassis panels, see Port Layouts.
For those switch pairs that have interconnect ports, connect each switch to it's pair via the assigned interconnect ports, using the 100Gb/s QSFP28 cables supplied for switch interconnection, otherwise referred to as MLAG/IPL cables. This is usually the shortest set of 100Gb/s QSFP28 cables.
Connect the DNodes to the switches that have assigned DNode ports:
Use the 100Gb/s QSFP28 cables supplied for the DBox to Switch connections.
Connect the right QSFP28 port of each DNode to switch 1 in a switch pair. Connect the left QSFP28 port on each DNode to Switch 2 in the same pair.
Connect each DNode to the same port on both switches, using only the ports assigned as DNode ports.
Connect the CNodes to the switches that have assigned CNode ports:
Use the 100Gb/s to 2X 50Gb/s QSFP28 to QSFP28 splitter cables supplied for the CBox to Switch connections.
Connect the right QSFP28 port on each CNode to switch 1 in a pair. Connect the left QSFP28 port on each CNode to switch 2 in the same pair.
Connect each CNode to the same port on both switches, using only those switch ports assigned as CNode ports.
Connect the 100 Gbps single cable ends to the switch ports and the 50 Gbps split cable ends to the CNode ports. Split each cable between peer nodes only.
If your installation plan includes a management switch, connect the switches, DNodes and CNodes to the management switches:
Use the Ethernet 100/1000 Cat6 management cables.
Connect any port on the GbE management switch to each switch, CNode and DNode:
On each CNode, connect the cable to the CNode management port.
On each DNode, connect the cable to the DNode management port.
On each switch, connect the cable to the switch management port.
Connect power to all units:
Connect power cables from the power connectors on the nodes into the rack PDUs.
Use one CBox cable per PDU.
Use two Dbox cables per PDU.
Connect the left port of each data switch to the left PDU and the right port of each data switch to the right PDU.
The power cables for the two 16 port data switches that are mounted side by side MUST be crossed over so that each switch has a power cable going to each PDU.
