The VMS enables you to remotely control identification LEDs on CNodes, DNodes and DBox drive slots. This is useful for matching up the physical components to their VMS IDs. The remote LED control feature is available in the VMS GUI. It enables you to turn on a LED and turn it off again. It also reflects the current LED status with a graphic representation of the LED that mimics the LED's state.
-
In the VAST Web UI, select Infrastructure from the menu and then Cnodes.
The CNodes are listed.
-
Click the Actions button (
) for the CNode you want to identify and then select Led blink. After a few seconds, the LED icon in the LED Status column starts blinking.
On the relevant CNode, the ID LED button for the CNode on the relevant CBox front panel is now blinking.
There is also a blue LED that blinks on the rear panel of the CNode to help you identify the specific CNode.
When you're done, click the Actions button again for the same CNode and select Led Off to stop the blinking.

In the VAST Web UI, select Infrastructure from the menu and then Dnodes.
The DNodes are listed.
-
Click the Actions button (
) for the DNode you want to identify and then select Led on. After a few seconds, the LED icon in the LED Status column appears lit, indicating that the LED has been turned on.
