The NFS nconnect feature, which enables clients to have multiple TCP connections associated with a single mount, is supported for NFSv4.1 client mounts.
nconnect is specified on Linux systems using the nconnect option in the client mount command .
While the nconnect feature on client systems can support up to 16 connections, the recommended limit for client mounts of VAST Cluster views is five connections. Increasing the number of connections beyond five connections has a non linear effect on performance.
Note
With some older versions of Linux, you may need to install the VAST-NFS package in order to support nconnect with NFSv4.1 from the client side. Please contact Support for more information.
Note
nconnect for NFSv4.1 is implemented such that all of the connections on the mount use a single VIP on the cluster. Whether the mount command specifies the device using a DNS name or VIP, a single VIP is provided for all of the connections on the mount.
