The Multi-Cluster Dashboard tab is a high level view aggregated across all of your VAST Data clusters. It is an integrated dashboard that displays the performance metrics, status, and other relevant statistics for all the clusters that are registered with Uplink, in various cards, or panels. They are:

-
Cluster names. The cluster names are given, for all the clusters that report to the Multicluster Dashboard. There is a checkbox to the left of every name. Clear the checkbox to remove the applicable cluster's performance metrics and other information from the Multicluster Dashboard. The colors assigned to each cluster here are used throughout the dashboard to provide per-cluster breakdowns or relative cluster performance as a subtext to the display
-
Cluster status. Displays the current status of all clusters in reporting in a customer site. The colors correspond to the clusters listed at the top of the dashboard, and those are displayed within the wheel beneath the corresponding state, which can be Online, Offline, Failed or Desynced.
-
Alarms. A visual indication of the number of various alarms by severity, in every cluster, in the form of a color-coded bar chart.
-
Performance History. Displays the Bandwidth, IOPS and Latency. for the past 10 minutes aggregated over all the clusters. The graphs are stacked to display the total performance (the peaks) as well as the per-cluster proportional performance (the relative size of the graph divided by color at any given point in time). Select the applicable radio button on the right to view the necessary information.
-
Performance. A visualization of the current performance of the clusters. Speedometer-style gauges give the present Bandwidth, IOPS and Latency, similar to a single VMS, However, these are totals across all the clusters. The colored bars within the gauge show the proportional breakdown for each cluster as part of the sum total (or average in the case of latency).
-
Tasks. Displays any tasks currently running on the clusters. The circles are color coded to display tasks in the color of the cluster on which they are running.
-
Inventory. Displays the total physical inventory and state across all VAST Data clusters. Click
to view breakdowns of the state for each individual object across all clusters. Select the necessary object to view from the State per cluster drop down list to view the state per cluster of that object.
-
Data Reduction. Displays a bar representing the total Used, Auxiliary and Free space across all clusters, and below each section, the colored bars show the proportion each cluster contributes. Click
to view the data as a bar chart.
In the Clusters tab, cluster cards for registered clusters display the following items:

-
The cluster name.
-
The cluster status.
-
The VAST cluster version currently running on the cluster.
-
Performance metrics are sampled every minute. The line graphs represent the following data sampled over the previous 10 minutes:
-
MB/s. Bandwidth in MB/S
-
IOPS
-
MS. Latency measured in MS.
-
-
The most recently sampled value of every performance metric.
-
The used logical capacity of the cluster and the total logical capacity of the cluster, in the given units. For example, "TB capacity" means the logical capacity is quoted in TB. The bar gives a visual representation of the used logical capacity over the total logical capacity.
-
The cluster's license status.
-
The synchronization state between the on-premises VMS and VAST Uplink:
-
Synced. The data displayed was recently updated.
-
Out of sync. The data displayed is old data that was captured earlier and may not reflect the current state.
-
-
The number of alarms currently present on the cluster. The alarms are categorized by the alarm severity as Critical, Major, or Minor, Hover over the icon to see the number of alarms by category.
Click any cluster card to access the Uplink single cluster dashboard. It is the Uplink version of the VMS cluster dashboard, featuring the following information and controls:

-
Click the Back to clusters icon
, to go toggle between viewing a single cluster or all the clusters, if multiple clusters are present.
-
Sync status, which shows you the synchronization state between the on-premises VMS and Uplink Services.
-
VAST Uplink title, which tells you that you are viewing the Uplink user interface.
-
Click Local VMS to open the login page for the local VMS portal. You will need to have login credentials to login to the local VMS. The Local VMS link will only function if your logged in device is within your VPN/local network.
-
Click Documentation to view the documentation for the VMS.
You can now:
-
View all of the information on the cluster dashboard and navigate the menu and the various pages and view the lists of the various components of the VAST Cluster such as the Element store, and policies for services such as LDAP, Active Directory etc. The same information is displayed as in the VMS VAST Web UI, including Analytics reports, Alarms, Activities, Infrastructure details, Version information, and all Configurations.
To view the configuration of a specific component such as an alarm, a view, a view policy, provider configuration, etc., click
and select View.
-
Create a ticket that refers to any component on any given page. Click
and select Create ticket. The Submit Ticket dialog opens with the reference to the component. Complete and submit the ticket. For more information about creating and submitting a support ticket, refer to Creating and Managing Support Tickets in Uplink.
