View policies enable you to restrict access to views by NFS host. By default, running the 'showmount' command from any NFSv3 client returns a full list of all NFSv3 exports on the cluster, including those to which the host does not have access.
The suppressed showmount feature enables you to suppress this export list from all clients. The setting is applied to the cluster. When enabled, any client running a showmount command receives the following response:
'/' everyone(rw)
To enable suppress showmount, go to the Cluster page under the Settings menu and enable Enable Suppressed Showmount.
