Predefined analytics reports enable you to monitor metrics for protected paths.
The analytics reports are available on the source peer, which tracks the connection and the progress of transferring data to the destination peer.
There are two ways to access the protected path analytics reports:
-
On the Analytics page, select the Protected Path object type and then select the specific report you want to view.
-
On the Protected Paths page, open the Actions menu for the protected path and then select Analytics view.
You can find the following reports:
Over time, this report shows per protected path how old the latest replicated data that is available on the destination peer is.
Use the protected path buttons to select which one to view.
In the following example, the low point on the graph (1) corresponds to the completion of a restore point on the destination peer. When the restore point is first created, the data available on the destination peer is the most recent it can be.

As time progresses from the completion of a restore point at the destination peer, the RPO increases uniformly (2).
When the next restore point is completed on the destination peer, the age of the data at the path on peer drops down to the transfer time between the peers (3).
The Protected Path RPO Miss report shows a positive value whenever the RPO exceeds twice the snapshot interval, since that means that a snapshot is skipped. For example, if your protection policy is scheduled to take a snapshot every ten minutes, then an RPO miss occurs if 20 minutes elapse since the most recent successful replication completed. Following a skipped snapshot, the RPO continues to increase until the next new restore point is created. The RPO Miss report is an easy way to spot these exceptional RPOs.
Exceptionally long RPOs can be typical during initial sync since the entire data set is copied to the destination and this may take more time than subsequent periodic snapshot replication.
In this example, the report shows a constant zero value over the selected time period, indicating that the protected path is progressing according to expectation without RPO misses:

This report displays the following metrics for each protected path separately:
-
Physical backlog and Logical backlog. The amount of physical and logical data remaining to transfer before the restore point is complete.
In the following example, a backlog appears over the transfer period and then drops until the next restore point is created:
-
Bandwidth. The rate of data transfer over the replication connection.
In the following example, the connection is seen utilizing a higher bandwidth during the transfer of a snapshot to the destination peer:
-
Physical size and Logical size. The physical and logical size of all data that was replicated from the protected path.
In the following example, the size increases as a snapshot is transferred and the size subsequently remains constant until the next restore point is created:
