Your VAST Sales Engineer will share with your a survey of your site and work with you to fill the survey in order to plan the deployment on your site. Your VAST Sales Engineer will prepare an installation plan. The plan will include (among other aspects) the port assignments for your cable connections, and the software configurations to be applied to the hardware components. The plan will identify if the software stage of the installation can be carried out using VAST's Easy Install utility or if a different procedure will be followed.
-
Your VAST Sales Engineer will arrange for your hardware to be ordered and shipped. When your shipment arrives and you are ready to install the hardware, follow our Hardware Install Guide in conjunction with your VAST Sales Engineer. The guide will help you to unpack, rack and stack your hardware.
-
Your VAST Sales Engineer will help you to complete the cabling of the racked units, the configuration of the cluster switches and prerequisite configurations needed for the next stage of the installation.
-
If your configuration is compatible with the Easy Install utility, your Sales Engineer may ask you to follow our Software Install Guide in conjunction with your site survey. Otherwise, your Sales Engineer will complete the software installation through other means.
-
When the software installation is complete, the cluster is manageable via the VAST Management Service (VMS). You should now follow the Quick Start Configuration Guide to configure access to your cluster from your data network.
