VAST clusters are composed of compute, networking, and storage elements powered by VAST software running on validated partner hardware.

Components

CBox: Server chassis containing 1 or more CNodes
CNode: VAST Server running VAST OS with stateless protocol containers
DBox: Highly available NVMe Enclosure containing 2-4 DNodes
DNode: Fabric module that presents NVMe storage devices to the NVMe Fabric
Fabric Switch: NVMe-oF switch that forms the inter-cluster network connecting CNodes to DNodes
